Red letter day
Here we stand, again
On a bright spring day
With the sun on our shoulders
Surrounded by friends and loved ones
Just like a decade ago
Our winding road to here has been smooth
Sometimes a little bit uphill,
Often we needed power naps
But never were we lost or had need for a compass
We are guided by our love and friendship,
Following and leading at the same time,
Carrying the precious cargo:
two little passengers
We picked up along the way
So here, at this rest stop, let us sit a bit
Enjoy the view and reflect
on how far we’ve come
How safe and fortunate we have travelled and
Focus our hearts on the next rest stop:10 years from today.
